Worktop Clamps

Worktop clamps are used when creating seamless joints on worktops, eliminating the need for surface mounted worktop strips. Fitting these clamps so that they are concealed on the underside of the worktop also requires the use of a plunging router with a 1/2 inch shank, a router kitchen worktop jig, and the appropiate tungsten carbide router bits to fit the jig. Using the jig, two blind holes and a slot can be cut in the underside of the worktop. After applying an appropiately coloured mitre jointing compound to the joint faces, the clamp can be fitted, and as tightened, draws the two joint faces together to form a seamless joint.
