We check our prices against the big DIY chains so you don't have to. Where you see a "Cheaper than" message on a product, we found the identical product for more on their website on the date shown.
Who we compare against
- B&Q (diy.com) - only products sold by B&Q themselves, not products sold by other sellers on the diy.com marketplace.
- Toolstation (toolstation.com)
- Wickes (wickes.co.uk)
When we check
- Full check: every week, starting Sunday night. Every product we sell that we can match to one of theirs is checked.
- Daily re-check: every morning, each product showing a "Cheaper than" message is checked again.
- Date shown: each message shows the date we last checked their price.
What we compare
- The identical product only - same manufacturer, same model or barcode, same size and same pack quantity. We don't compare "similar" or own-brand alternatives.
- Their standard online price as shown on their website for the product on the day we checked, including VAT.
- Our standard online price shown on this website, including VAT.
- "You save" is the difference between the two prices.
What's not included
- Delivery and collection charges - ours or theirs. Delivery costs and options differ between retailers.
- Multibuy, bulk and quantity-break prices - ours or theirs.
- Trade account, member, loyalty, app-only and voucher or discount-code prices.
- Clearance, in-store-only and local branch prices.
- Products sold by marketplace sellers on diy.com.
Prices change
Their prices can go up or down between our checks. If a daily re-check finds their price is now the same as or lower than ours, we remove the message from our website that day. We don't guarantee their price is still the same when you visit their website.
This isn't a price match
Our price checks are there to help you compare. They're not a price-match promise, and we don't currently offer to match other retailers' prices.
Think we've got one wrong?
We keep a dated record of every price check. If you think a comparison is wrong, email sales@rockbottomnorthampton.co.uk with the product, and we'll check it and correct or remove it.
B&Q, Toolstation and Wickes are trade marks of their owners. Rock Bottom Northampton isn't connected with or endorsed by them. Last updated 21 October 2026.
