"DOFF 2 IN 1 ANT & NEST KILLER PRE-BAITED TRAPS Pre-baited traps are quick and easy to use, destroying nests and colonies. Outdoors where ant trails have been seen In Britain, there are 51 different species of ants, the most common of which is the Black Ant, and likely to be seen in warmer weather in late spring. They feed on aphids ( Greenfly and Blackfly) for the honeydew they produce (sticky substance), which could be seen as beneficial in some ways for a gardener. As with other insect colonies, there are queens, (fertile females), worker females (sterile) and male workers (fertile). Mating happens ‘on the wing’ and on very warm days winged ants will be seen for 2-3 hours and this is when mating occurs.
