The brand
Stanley since 1843.
Frederick Stanley opened his bolt and hinge shop in New Britain, Connecticut, in 1843. The Stanley knife, the Bailey plane and the FatMax tape are all his company's work, and Stanley hand tools remain the benchmark for the trade.
